Greaves Electric Mobility has launched the Ampere Primus electric scooter. This is the flagship scooter from the brand which gets a price tag of ₹1.10 Lakh (ex-showroom). Ampere has given mid-mounted motor on the Primus which has a peak power output of 4kW. Via belt drive this motor transfers its power to rear wheels.
Ampere Primus Specifications
The Ampere Primus gets 3kW Lithium-ion-phosphate battery which gives 107 km range to the electric scooter. According to Ampere the range will be higher in Eco mode. City, Power and Reverse are other four drive modes that is available in Primus. It gets reverse mode as well just like other electric scooters available in the market.
From regular 5A socket one can charge this scooter to full. Ampere has given the Primus full digital instrument cluster which supports bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Customers can use dedicated app for getting more details about the scooter right on their smartphone.
As Ampere Primus is an high speed electric scooter it gets a top speed of 77 km/h. 0-40 km/h acceleration time is 4.2 seconds which is enough for daily commute. With 155 mm ground clearance the Primus can easily tackle bumpy and rough roads. For luggage there is boot space of 22 litres. For braking it gets drum brakes on both wheels
Ampere is offering the Primus scooter in 4 matte colours – Buck Black, Himalayan White, Royal Orange and Havelock Blue. This scooter will rival the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather 450X and Ola S1 in its segment. Bajaj Auto is working on 108 Km range Chetak electric scooter that will be launched soon.
