Bajaj Auto today has launched the Premium Edition of Chetak electric scooter. This new edition is priced at ₹1.52 lakh (ex-showroom) while base variant of the Chetak costs ₹1.22 lakh (ex-showroom). As the name suggests this edition gets use of premium materials and little bit higher range of 108 km to justify its price tag which is ₹30k more.

The 3 new colours on Bajaj Chetak Premium Edition includes Satin Black, Matte Caribbean Blue and Matte Coarse Grey. With premium materials Bajaj Auto has also used exquisite detailing on the electric scooter.

Bajaj Auto now offers larger display with bluetooth connectivity that displays all necessary informations with better clarity. Dual-tone seats, body-coloured rear view mirrors, grab rail in Satin Black colour and matching pillion footrest castings are also on offer. The headlights are now blacked out that looks really good on Chetak.

A 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack is on offer with the Bajaj Chetak. This gives the electric scooter a range of 95 km in Eco and 85 km in Sport mode respectively. In Premium Edition the range stands at 108 km. The electric scooter on Bajaj Chetak provides a maximum power output of 4kW and 16 Nm. In 5 hours one can fully charge this electric scooter. Top speed of Chetak is around 80 km/h.

Full LED lights are on offer with the Bajaj Chetak and it gets all metal body. USB charging will come handy to charge electronic devices. Front disc and rear drum brakes are on offer here combined braking system.

In its segment the Bajaj Chetak rivals Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro. However sales of the electric scooter are quite low as compared to the rivals. In legacy automakers it is TVS iQube which is leading the sales chart. Few months back Hero MotCorp launched Vida V1 which seems to be getting lot of interest from customers.
