Hyundai Creta Electric Spied For The First Time – 400+ Km Range

  • Hyundai Creta electric will get a big enough battery pack to offer 400+ Km range with no major changes in design
  • In 2025 Hyundai may launch the Creta electric in Indian market to rival the Nexon EV and XUV 400

When Tata Motors launched the Nexon EV it became immensely popular in no time. It was the first brand to adopt a platform of ICE vehicles for the development of electric models. As we all know Nexon EV is based on ICE Nexon and we saw similar approach by Mahindra as well. XUV400 is based on XUV300 but unlike Nexon it is little bit longer. Hyundai Creta electric is also being developed in a same way.

Hyundai Creta Electric Spied

South Korean major Hyundai is developing the Creta EV. It is based on current ICE Creta and shares its design language too. Recently two Hyundai Creta electric SUVs were spied for the first time. Hyundai has codenamed the Creta EV SU2i EV and it will hit the markets in 2025.

As you can see there is no camouflage on the electric Creta except on front and rear bumpers. To distinguish it from ICE Creta Hyundai will make some notable changes on its exterior. One will find it hard to differentiate between electric and IC-engine models of Creta. With design even alloy wheels here are same. Look closely and you will find flat board supporting the battery pack which suggests that it’s an electric vehicle.

Hyundai Creta Electric Specifications

It is likely that the electric Creta will share most of its components from the Kona EV. A 100 kW motor from the Kona EV producing 136 HP and 360 Nm may be retained. Battery pack size will be of around 40 kWh just like we see on XUV400 and Nexon EV Max which is good enough to offer 400+ KM range.

By 2025 the car is expected to make its global debut. We expect a price of ₹14 to ₹20 lakh on the Creta electric. Hyundai has already began its electric vehicles onslaught in India with the launch of Ioniq 5 and showcasing Ioniq 6 at the Auto Expo 2023. There are high chances of Hyundai Venue electric in pipeline too.
