Nissan has silently updated its best selling Magnite compact SUV for 2023 year. 2023 Nissan Magnite now gets more safety features which makes it even more irresistible. Considering the fact that Magnite starts at ₹5.97 lakh (ex-showroom) it offers immense value for money. It shares its platform with the Renault Kiger which may get the same update in coming days.
2023 Nissan Magnite Safety Features
Nissan now offers Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard across all variants of Magnite. This makes Magnite even more safe considering the fact that it’s an 4-star rated car by Global NCAP. XE, XL, XV Executive, XV and XV Premium are 5 variants available on Magnite.
Hill Start Assist and Hydraulic Brake Assist are also standard on 2023 Nissan Magnite. Nissan offers 360° camera and 50+ connected car features on the top variant of Nissan Magnite. Top variant also gets smartwatch connectivity.
Engine & Gearbox
The compact SUV is available in two engine and gearbox options. 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine gets 5-speed manual transmission and packs 71 BHP and 96 Nm. More powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol puts out 99 BHP and 160 Nm and it gets an option of CVT gearbox along with 5-speed manual.
As Nissan Magnite shares its platform with Renault Kiger it is likely that Kiger too will get ESC, Traction Control & TPMS standard across all variants soon. Both compact SUVs are best selling models of respective brands.
Nissan Magnite & Renault Kiger Sales
In January 2023, Nissan sold 2,803 models of the Magnite compact SUV. On the other hand its cousin Renault Kiger sales were at 1,153 models. In the same period last year Nissan sold 3,827 models of Magnite which shows a sales drop of 26.76% last month YoY. At the same time Renault Kiger saw a massive sales drop of 62.23% YoY as its sales were at good 3,053 models in January 2022.
