- India-made Volkswagen Virtus gets ADAS in Brazil but sunroof and ventilated seats are not on offer
- Comfortline, Highline and Exclusive are the three trims in which Volkswagen will offer the Virtus in the Brazilian market
On 9 June 2022 Volkswagen introduced the Virtus in India. Export of the sedan from India was started in September 2022 for the markets like Mexico and now Brazil. India-made Volkswagen Virtus is now up for sale in the Brazilian market. It misses out on some essential features like ventilated seats and sunroof but gets sunroof.
India-made Volkswagen Virtus in Brazil
In the Brazilian market Volkswagen Virtus is available in 3 trims – Comfortline, Highline and Exclusive. The Exclusive variant is essentially a sportier version of the sedan similar to Virtus GT. The specifications of Virtus Exclusive variant includes black coloured 18-inch wheels, leatherette dashboard finish, rear spoiler and blacked out elements inside out.
Volkswagen is offering 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre petrol TSI engine in Virtus. The 1.0-litre TSI petrol packs 126 BHP and 200 Nm while 1.5-litre TSI petrol puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm. There’s no DCT on offer. In the Brazilian market Volkswagen Virtus only gets 6-speed automatic transmission.
Volkswagen Virtus ADAS
ADAS is the biggest plus point of the Brazilian-spec Volkswagen Virtus. It includes adaptive cruise as well as speed control. Manoeuvre braking and post-collision functions are also available in this ADAS with forward collision mitigation on offer.
All-black interior really gives the Virtus a distinctive appeal. In India the sedan gets beige and black coloured interiors which also looks good.
Volkswagen may soon offer ADAS on Virtus in the Indian market due to government regulations and rival like Honda City which already offers ADAS. New Hyundai Verna too will get ADAS and this’ll push Volkswagen even more to introduce this feature in India.
