Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 And Bolero B2 Variant Launch Soon

  • Mahindra Scorpio will get new mid-spec S5 variant and also a 9-seater option in both S11 and S5 variant
  • New entry-level B2 variant for Mahindra Bolero is in the works to reduce its starting price

As RDE and BS-6 Phase-2 emission norms are kicking in from April 2023 Mahindra is gearing up to update its lineup. With BS6 Phase-2 compliant engines it is likely that there will be new variants on offer as well. According to RTO documents Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Bolero may get new variants and seating options. Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 variant is in the works.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 Variant

According to RTO documents Mahindra is working on a new S5 variant of Scorpio Classic. This will be a mid-spec variant positioned between existing S and S11 variant. On the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 variant expected features are as follows:

  • Covered steel wheels
  • Body coloured bumpers
  • Manual air conditioning
  • Electrically adjustable ORVMs
  • Central locking
  • Basic Audio System

What’s really interesting that we may get 9-seater option on upcoming S5 and existing S11 variant. Base S variant of Scorpio Classic is already available with 9-seating option. In 9-seating option Mahindra will offer bench seats in 2nd row and 2-seater side facing seats in 3rd row. At present the top-spec S11 variant is available in 7-seater configuration with an option of captain seats in 2nd row.

There will be no changes in engine whatsoever and Scorpio Classic will continue to get 2.2-litre diesel engine packing 132 PS/300 Nm with 6-speed manual on offer. At present the Scorpio Classic is priced between ₹12.64 Lakh to ₹16.14 Lakh. With updated BS6 Phase-2 compliant engine there will be a price hike for sure.

After Scorpio the Mahindra Bolero too will get a new variant. This will be the entry-level variant of Bolero that will reduce the base price of the SUV. At present this Mahindra workhorse starts at ₹9.53 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in B4, B6 and B6(O) variant.

Mahindra Bolero is powered by a 1.5-litre supremely reliable diesel engine that outs out 75 PS and 210 Nm. This engine comes mated with 5-speed manual transmission. Top variant of the SUV is priced at ₹10.50 Lakh (ex-showroom).
