Nissan Magnite Gets 3 New Variants – Red Edition Discontinued

  • In July 2022 Nissan introduced the Magnite Red Edition based on mid-spec XV trim with a starting price of ₹7.86 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • Discontinued Red Editions are replaced by 3 new variants on Magnite and these new variants too are based on XV trim

At present Magnite is the best selling product of Nissan in India. In December 2020 Nissan launched the Magnite at a jaw dropping price of ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However that prices were introductory and after regular price hike the Nissan Magnite now starts at ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom). In July 2022 Nissan introduced the Magnite Red Edition. After almost eight months of launch the Magnite Red Edition has been discontinued.

The discontinued Red Edition of Magnite was based on mid-spec XV trim. Both 1.0-litre petrol manual and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual options were available on this edition. Nissan also used to offer it in 1.0-litre turbo-petrol CVT variant. All these three variants are now replaced by XV Premium (O), XV Premium (O) dual-tone and XV Premium (O) Turbo CVT.

Nissan hasn’t revealed the prices of new variants yet. It is likely that these three new variants will cost ₹20,000 extra over respective discontinued models. Features of these new variants will soon be updated on brochure. Like the discontinued Red Edition of Magnite the new variants too are based on mid-spec XV trim.

2023 Nissan Magnite Updates

Few days back Nissan Magnite was updated for the year 2023. The compact SUV now gets Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Traction Control as standard across all variants. This makes the Magnite even more safe as it is already a 4-star rated car. Hill start assist and Hydraulic brake assist are now also standard on the SUV.

A total of 5 variants are available on Nissan Magnite. It gets 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 5-speed manual gearbox that puts out 71 BHP and 96 Nm. More powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol packs 99 BHP and 160 Nm and can be have with 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
